Karen was born to do hair. From a young age, nothing made her happier than having her hands in someone’s hair. In elementary school it was noted on her report card “Do not sit Karen behind anyone with long hair, or she will get nothing done.” It was then the die was cast.

The opportunity to open a salon where she was born and raised is a dream come true. Inspired by Beacon, transforming itself from a sleepy old town to a hub of creative arts in the Hudson Valley, her motivation is to transform the people around her by helping them find their beautiful selves.  Affection is her love language and she enthusiastically brings her creativity to every client when they come to Beauty Ritual.

A professional since 2004, her signature natural curls have driven her to curate a variety of products while educating herself on what’s new, what works, and what’s best for her clients. Brands like Matrix, Milkshake, Joico, and Paul Mitchell are just a few of the cherry picked products you’ll find at her station. In other words, one size does not fit all when it comes to anything, especially hair and doubly especially, for curly hair.
